In this article, we go on to explore the best places for interracial couples. Last time, we discussed Miami, Brooklyn, Paris, London, Singapore, and Monaco. Today, we take a closer look at Geneva, Martinique, Brazil, South Africa, and Honolulu.
Geneva
Many mixed-race couples mention Geneva as a very friendly place for such marriages and families. Traveling here, you will be surprised how many interracial couples you will see. A quarter of the country’s residents are migrants, which also contributes to the situation. Geneva has an incredible atmosphere thanks to the fact of being the heart of several international corporations and associations. Its nice and picturesque old town is situated above the Rhone River. Here, you can also take a look at Geneva’s ancient fortifications which are an interesting site. While visiting the city, you can take a boat trip on Lake Geneva or go on a cruise on the historic paddle steamer. The Jardin Botanique is another popular spot for couples. Here, you can enjoy romantic strolls amid greenery and flowers. If you decide to have a really chilling vacation, go to the southern shore of Lake Geneva and enjoy Evian-Les-Bains, a famous health resort located close to beautiful Alpine slopes.
Martinique
Martinique is an island in the Caribbean that administratively belongs to France. Here, you can see how three cultures, French, Caribbean, and African, are intertwined with each other. Martinique is a unique place on Earth with beautiful beaches, incredible mountains, tropical gardens, and magnificent history. The capital, Fort-de-France, is the point for starting your adventure with nice architectural sites. Les Trois-Ilets is a place that also deserves your visit. It’s a popular tourist area, full of hotels, restaurants, and tourist spots. Here, you can find out how local industries work – sugarcane and pottery. Tiny and cute shops sell clothing, art and craft work, homemade soap, and local jewelry. Take a look at the dramatic Saint-Pierre and Mount Pelee. The old city was destroyed by a volcano eruption in 1902 (Everyone died except for one prisoner protected by the cell walls. This cell is now a tourist attraction which you can visit). As a picturesque walk, we suggest the scenic Route de la Trace through the rainforest to L’Ajoupa-Bouillon and hiking on Mount Pelee.
Brazil
Brazil has a big black population, which of course influenced local art, science, and people. About 30% of marriages here are interracial ones, so any mixed-raced couple will feel fine in Brazil. Well, the first thing to visit in Brazil is probably Rio de Janeiro. The giant statue of Christ seems to hug the whole of humanity. This tourist attraction gathers many visitors, though it is definitely not the only thing to see here. The first three forts, which were the beginning of Rio de Janeiro, are worth your attention. All nature lovers should have a look at Iguacu Falls. The river has about 247 waterfalls. Though Brazil is a nice place for vacation all year round, it is definitely perfect during the Carnaval.
South Africa
Though South Africa doesn’t have a lot of mixed-race couples, this is still a nice place to travel. You won’t be condemned here for sure. The majority of interracial couples that you can meet here will be quite young. Yet, you can be absolutely sure of your safety. Of course, you can expect some curiosity and questions, but they won’t be triggered by any intention to hurt you. As for attractions, you should definitely go on a safari. The memories of savannah and deserts will stay with you for a long time. All nature lovers should give a try to Kruger National Park as it is one of the oldest and greatest natural reserves in Africa. Another popular location is of course Cape Town. This multicultural city is located under Tabe Mountain, a flat peak from the top of which you can get incredible views of the town. South Africa has such stunning nature that you will have many options to choose from. You can also take a stroll along the Garden Route and enjoy the coastal scenery. Or take a look at the wildlife in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park.
Honolulu
Honolulu, Hawaii, is a place that unites people from different races. It is the place where Barack Obama was born also in a family of black and white people. So you don’t have to worry about the attitude to mixed races here. As for the sites, Honolulu is famous for its popular Waikiki Beach. Just watching a sunset here is an additional advantage. Iolani Palace is a famous attraction for all first-time visitors. The Palace dates back to 1882 and is still in a good condition. Manoa Falls is not only a beautiful spot for nature lovers, but it is also a place for those who want to feel like the heroes of their favorite movies, “Jurassic Park” and “The Hunger Games”. And a nice way to finish a romantic day is to take some good pastry at the famous Leonard’s Bakery.
