About the Bloggers to Bylines Course

I can’t thank Britany enough for everything she has done and continues to do for us every single day. Because of Britany and this course I am well on my way to finally quitting my crappy 9-5 and becoming location independent (the dream!).

Joining Blogger to Bylines was hands down the best decision I have made in years!”

— Ashley Smith, My Wanderlusty Life

Are you passionate about writing and sharing your stories with the world?

Blogger to Bylines: A Guide to Freelance Writing is the course you need to get those stories published and turn that passion into a career.

This online course and community includes 17 lessons of instruction and guidance on how to identify potential stories, craft compelling pitches, and sell your articles to editors at publications, both online and in print.

You’ll also be given access to the private Blogger to Bylines Facebook group, where writers can discuss the industry, ask questions, and submit their work for edits and critique.

Freelance writing is a difficult industry to break into. But with the proliferation of online content, there are more opportunities for writers than ever before. You just have to know where to find them and how to land those coveted positions and bylines.

Blogger to Bylines shows you how.

In addition to four modules and 18 lessons, lifetime access to Blogger to Bylines includes a private Facebook group where members can discuss the freelance writing industry.

This is a place to ask questions, share your work, and swap pitches and drafts with fellow writers for edits and feedback.

Most importantly, it’s a place to share in the experience of establishing ourselves as freelance writers. We all have a lot to learn from each other!

Members will also receive access to the TBS Opportunity Board where they can find and list writing opportunities, among other jobs, contests, and more.

Blogger to Bylines will grow with you, with additional lessons added and regularly updated information that stays current with this constantly evolving industry.

About the Teacher

Britany has a Master of Arts in Journalism and has been writing for online and print publications for over five years. While that might not be long compared to some veteran writers out there, the process of breaking into this industry is fresh in her mind.

She went from blogger to bylines over the course of a year, when she decided to step away from her blog and focus on pitching the stories she really wanted to write. And she’s passionate about helping others do the same.

Britany’s work appears in BBC Travel, Hemispheres, Matador Network, Mashable, The Daily Dot, and more.

She’s also Journey Editor of Limbo Magazine — a story driven guidebook for everyday adventures — that will launch this Fall, and a regular contributor to the Discover Corps blog.

Britany is passionate about helping fellow writers get published. She can’t wait to see your bylines!

This course has changed my life. The only thing I knew about freelance writing before I joined was that I wanted to do it. I literally had to ask Britany what a ‘pitch’ was. I started making money almost immediately after signing up and I’m only getting busier and busier. Businesses are SEEKING ME OUT now instead of the other way around. I can’t thank Britany enough for everything she has done and continues to do for us every single day. Because of Britany and this course I am well on my way to finally quitting my crappy 9-5 and becoming location independent (the dream!). Joining Blogger to Bylines was hands down the best decision I have made in years!

I love how interactive the community is. Thanks to last month’s pitch challenge I’ve had pitches accepted/expressions of interest for publications like Westjet, Refinery29, Saltscapes, and TERN. Definitely the motivation I needed!
